Fall 2023 Update

The Expansion Project is wrapping up – but there’s still time to make a pledge!

The Librarium (temporary library at the City Auditorium) is now closed, and library staff are packing the collection for a December return to the newly renovated Keene Memorial Library.

We are thrilled to report that the workers are finishing the punch list (final review of work to be corrected). The team at MCL Construction and all the sub-contractors have done a beautiful job on renovating and adding to our footprint with 12,500 square feet of usable space.

We’re anxiously waiting for the new shelving to be completed so we can move all the materials back in starting Monday, December 11. Our team of dedicated library staff are ready to start the work of interfiling what was in circulation at the Librarium with what has been in storage for over a year.

If you haven’t yet made a pledge to support the project, we are still looking for about $900,000 to round out the budget. Gifts can be made to the Friends of Keene Memorial Library (a 501 (c) 3) or directly to the Library itself – did you know gifts to a municipality are also tax-deductible?
