In early 2021, community leaders of the library expansion were able to re-envision the project expansion with the help of SPT architects and Tetrad Property Group. The new expansion, seen above with drawn rendering looking at the East side of the building, is planned with a budget of $9.4 million.
In 2018, the citizens of Fremont passed a $2 million bond for the project. As of January 15, 2021, funds earmarked for the project equaled $3.5 million including the bond, Trust funds, donations, and pledges to date.
